Paint-decorated Tobacco Box, late 19th century, nearly square box with hinged lid, the scenic painted lid centered with a rectangle with four slightly sloping sides painted with clusters of grapes, blossoms, and leafy vines, the sides ornamented with stenciled flowers and vines on a mustard-color ground, the interior lid with applied printed paper chewing tobacco label, (shrinkage crack on lid), ht. 5 1/4, wd. 13 5/8, dp. 13 7/8 in.
