Two Palimpore Prayer Textiles

Two Palimpore Prayer Textiles, India, late 19th/early 20th century, one with a red scalloped mihrab with staggered alternating botehs on an ivory floral-filled field, the top panel displaying stylized teardrop-shaped blossoms in urns with radial blossoms drawn throughout the bottom panel, 4 ft. 4 in. x 2 ft. 11 in., and one with an ivory scalloped mihrab displaying a floral lattice design with a cartouche containing an inscription above, and teardrop-shaped blossoms in urns in the top panel, the bottom panel comprised of a rounded foliate lozenge pattern, 4 ft. 8 in. x 2 ft. 11 in.
