Unsigned, the family of the artist's sister-in-law identified in pen inscriptions under their figures, the back of the paper stamped four times with the Mrs. E. Nevill Jackson collection stamp reading in part "By August Edouart/Silhouettist to the French Royal Family," and inscribed in pencil "Illustrated in Ancestors in Sil. page 20."
