Bowles/Brown Family Letters, c. 1775, three letters between two sisters, Miss Bowles and Miss Brown, which describe some of the events going on in and around Boston from June 10th, 1775 to November 14th, 1775, including an account of Charlestown in ashes after the Battle of Bunker Hill, written on July 12th, 1775, and the last letter talking about the British light horse taking over the Old South Meetinghouse, selling the pews for fuel and using it as a riding arena.
