Bashka Paeff (Russian/American, 1893-1979) Bronze Figure of a Boy and Bird, piped as a fountain, signed "BASHKA PAEFF SC. " and marked along base "ROMAN BRONZE WORKS INC NY," approx. ht. 27, dia. of base 18 in. N.B. Paeff immigrated to Boston as a child from Minsk, Russia, and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. A version of this sculpture is in the Boston Public Garden near the Arlington Street entrance.
