William Pierce Stubbs (Maine/Massachusetts, 1842-1909) Portrait of the Schooner Herald of New York. Signed "W.P. Stubbs" l.l., further inscribed in red paint along the lower edge identifying the vessel and its captain Albert Lowell. Oil on canvas, showing the ship under full sail, 22 x 36 in., in the likely original molded gilt-gesso frame. Condition: Good, with very minor specks of retouch near right edge.
