Great Lakes "Brass Vine" Tomahawk, c. 1800, the brass head with steel bit and engraved with vines and star, moon, and sunrise devices on the eyehole, the ash shaft with sawtooth design probably dates to a later period and is not original to the head. lg. 14 3/4 in. Provenance: Paxson Museum Collection, Indiana. Literature: Published in two of John Baldwin's books on American Indian weapons.
