Five Lakai Needlepoint Fragments, Uzbekistan, 19th century, all highly stylized and featuring various designs: a contiguous small scale octagonal repeat, hooked "S" devices in grid form, blossoming hexagons with curled vines, and hooked and sawtooth palmettes, one with beaded fringe, sizes 3 ft. 11 in. x 1 ft. to 1 ft. 7 in. x 3 in. Provenance: From the Gillian Richardson Collection; proceeds to benefit the New England Rug Society.
