Misha Dolnikoff (American, 1920-2005) Thirteen Figural Drawings on Theatrical Themes . Most signed and dated from the early 1940s, one inscribed "The Capulet" l.l. Ink on paper of various colors, sheet sizes to 18 3/8 x 13 in., unframed. Condition: Most hinged to back mats. N.B. The subjects of the drawings appear to be based on theatrical figures, either from plays or ballet. The lot is accompanied by sixteen pieces of ephemera, including letters, postcards, and envelopes (all addressed to John Ward from the artist, some envelopes are empty and some have multiple enclosures), a scrapbook/manuscript entitled Listen, Listen, You Two Thousand Million That are About to Die! assembled by the artist, and a hardcover book Remember! Remember! An Experiment in Reincarnation written by the artist and published by Impresiones Perfectas, S.A. in Mexico in 1954.
