British Arts & Crafts Movement Smee and Cobay Armoire English oak, mirror glass London, England, c. 1900 Rectangular overhanging top supported by long corbels at front single door with mirror glass, interior compartment fitted with robe hooks over deep lower drawer, heavy copper hardware and strapwork, sides accented at base by pegged tenons, Smee and Cobay circular tag, approx. ht. 73 1/2, wd. 48 3/4, dp. 26 in. Note: Arthur Smee & William Cobay were fine quality cabinetmakers on New Bond Street, London. The Smee & Cobay partnership was dissolved in 1905.
