Condition: Handling crimp in sheet l.r. Provenance: A private collection, New York. N.B. After meeting Einstein at the family business--the fashionable Jacobi Studio in Berlin--Lotte Jacobi began a life-long friendship with the celebrated physicist, photographing him on five separate occasions, including this sitting at his home in Princeton, New Jersey, while on assignment for Life magazine.
