Attributed to Albert Alexander Smith (African American, 1896-1940) Portrait of a Man in Traditional Czech Costume . Unsigned, inscribed "CHECHO" in pencil on the stretcher, attributed on a typed label affixed to the back of the frame. Oil on canvas, 30 x 25 in., framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. N.B. According to the label, this painting is one of a series of portraits of ethnic types created and exhibited in Paris by Albert Smith in the 1930s.
