Joseph Ives Looking Glass Clock, Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1820, mahogany scroll-top case with three giltwood urn finials, full-length door with reverse-painting enclosing the painted Roman numeral dial with teardrop blued-steel hands flanked by bird's-eye maple corbels, reeded flat columns flank the looking glass over the lower reverse-painting on glass depicting a house by a lake, the blue sponge-painted interior housing an eight-day iron plate movement with roller pinions, rack striking, two iron weights and long drop pendulum, ht. 54 in.
