German School, 19th century. "Napoleon auf den Pyrenäen", lithograph with hand-coloring on paper, published by C.G. Lohse (German, active 19th century). Print depicts Napoleon surveying the land of the Spanish Pyrenees with spyglass, with the help of a local guide (likely a scene related to the Battle of the Pyrenees). Framed approximately 18.6" x 14.5". Sheet size approximately 14.125" x 10". Note: The Battle of the Pyrenees was a large-scale offensive launched in mid-summer 1813 as a part of the Peninsula War between Napoleon's empire and the allied powers of Spain, Britain and Portugal for control of the Iberian Peninsula during the Napoleonic Wars.
