Yixing Teapot with Carved Sage Figure, China, tubular, with rounded shoulder, branch-inspired C-shape handle, and straight spout, dark brown clay, the carved figure situated in an openwork niche with molded peaches and leaves, the slightly domed cover with peach-shaped knob and leaves, a raised mark reading "Shi Dabin zhi" (1573-1648) in a square cartouche on base, impressed mark on the cover interior, ht. 3 7/8, wd. 6 1/4 in.
