Patterned and Inscribed Copper Basin, India, 19th century, squat bulbous form with a narrow neck and flared rim, the exterior of the bowl decorated with floriated split palmettes, a smaller band of palmettes at the shoulder, and calligraphy at the neck asking God to bless the Fourteen Innocents, naming the owner as Haji Murshidi, with an Arabic prayer and Persian instructions that the bowl be used by a barber for ablutions, dia. 8 in.
