Marshall Cutler (b. 1855) Carved Mahogany Frame Mahogany, glass, brass hardware Florence, Italy, early 20th century Frame carved with trailing vines with fruit and flowers, metal label Made by Marshall Cutler 8 via Tornabuoni Florence, Italy, 14 3/4 x 12 1/4, opening 9 3/4 x 6 3/8 in. Note: Not long after graduating from Harvard in 1877, Cutler moved to Florence where he manufactured furniture mostly in the Renaissance Revival style. His work received a silver medal at the 1900 Paris Exposition and the grande prix at Turin in 1912.
