Wedgwood & Bentley Black Basalt Cassolette, England, c. 1780, the cover with mock urn to one side and candleholder to the reverse, the vase with foliate molded loop handles with laurel and berry festoons in high relief to either side and mounted atop a stepped square plinth, impressed cylindrical mark, with urn ht. to 8 1/8 in. Provenance: Property of the Saint Louis Art Museum, Sold to benefit the acquisition fund.
