George Schroyer Pennsylvania Long Rifle, signed "G. Schroyer," York County, Pennsylvania, c. 1800, the approximately .50 caliber 46 3/4-in. octagon-to-round smooth bore barrel secured to the curly maple stock by four keys with silver key slot escutcheons, fine relief-carving behind breech plug tang, cheek piece, in front of the wrigglework-engraved brass patchbox, and around rear ramrod pipe, teardrop carving behind lock mortise, silver escutcheon on wrist, (reconverted, minor crack on left side of forestock near muzzle), lg. 62 3/4 in.
