Elaborately Inlaid Cabinetmaker's Tool Chest, America, late 19th century, the inlaid lid with raised panel opens to a carved, gilded and elaborately inlaid interior, the corners of the lid inlaid with the faces of sailors, one of whom appears to be African American, the case fitted with sliding divided compartments, all contained within a brass-bound dovetailed chest, fitted with iron handles, ht. 25, wd. 37, dp. 23 in.
