Saturday Evening Girls Pottery Covered Serving Dish Handmade and decorated pottery Decorated by Fannie Levinei for Celia Goodman, both SEG decorators, Boston, Massachusetts, 1920 Tree-decorated circular medallion on domed lid, glazed in greens and browns on two-tone blue ground with black line accents, artist initialed, fitted on circular base, ht. 4 1/4 in. Provenance: Celia Goodman's wedding dishes, descended in the family. Note: It was the custom that the girls decorated for each other as a wedding gift. SEG decorator Sarah Galner's wedding service is part of the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts.
