Italian Rococo-style Walnut Secretaire, early to mid-19th century, the upper cabinet with a broken pediment projection surmounting two glazed doors which reveal two later shelves, resting on two drawers, lower cabinet with slant lid and interior compartments and drawers over top serpentine facade of one faux and three working drawers, all on a base with ogee feet, ht. 86 1/2, wd. 38 1/2, dp. 18 3/4 in. Note: Purchased in 1954 at Ditta Di Giorgio, Rome; sales receipt accompanies the lot.
