Mariano Fortuny (Spanish, 1838-1874) Woodsman with a Hatchet Signed "Fortuny" l. c., with a red wax collector's seal on the frame backing. Watercolor on paper, 11 3/8 x 8 1/2 in. (29.0 x 21.7 cm), in a shadow box frame. Condition: Toning, acid burn, rippling, nicks and losses to the edges of the sheet, affixed at two corners to paperboard backing.
