Meunier in grey morocco with numerous onlaid bats within a foliate frame continuing on spine and turn-ins to match the vignette on the title page after design by Whistler, slipcase, silk doublures, marbled endpapers, a.e.g., original wraps bound in. Number 135 of 300 copies printed for the author on velin, inscribed on a full sheet to Paul Nadar, his biographer, undated. Lithographic illustrations by James McNeill Whistler throughout to original wraps and a few pages within. Inner hinges starting; Russian library stamp to verso title page; some light toning to margins and spine faded.
