Paris: Etienne Ganeau, 1732. 2 vols. 12mo, contemporary mottled calf, gilt-tooled and -lettered spines. Rare first edition of Le Sage's biography of the privateer's adventures during the French and English wars in Canada, with six engraved plates, title page vignette and head-pieces. The manuscript of Beauchene's memoirs was apparently given by his widow to Le Sage, celebrated for his authorship of Gil Blas. Hinges split but firm; head of spines chipped.
