John Maltby (English, b. 1936- ). Modern ceramic stoneware table vase of tall tapered envelope form on a rustic and primitive plinth base, exterior of vase with linear minimal and whimsical sketches in black on textured white ground with white floating fields recalling clouds, grey splatter on dark brown base. Signed on bottom "MALTBY". Overall approximate height 10.75". Provenance: The Craftsmen Pottery Association of Great Britain, London, whereby acquired by the Estate of Mr. Joseph Gilbert of Atlanta, Georgia on 10/21/93.
