the domed cover surmounted with a pair of birds, the body of rounded, squat form having shaped, lacquered reserves decorated with scenes of birds in blossoming trees above swirling pools of water, inlaid on a gilt ground and separated with elephants issuing free-moving rings, the silvered cover, shoulders and base with enameled floral sprays, raised on a tiered base with scalloped bracket feet, signed, possibly Tadashi, to the underside. Height overall 13 inches.
