A collection of important documents to be carried by Howard Hughes on his Around-the-World flight. A small typed note accompanies the documents, which are housed in a file-o-fax, stating "These papers must be carried by Mr. Hughes at all times." Comprising (1) US Department of Commerce Authorization for Foreign Flight (New York, Canada, Newfoundland, Irish Free State, England and Northern Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and the USSR) with aircraft specifications, 3pp. (2) Permit and Oath of Departure to fly to Minneapolis, issued in Fairbanks, Alaska (3) Questions in English and Russian carried by Hughes to be used in case of forced landing (4) Letter of Authority from Irish Free State granting Hughes permission to fly over or land; together with a license to carry pistols, a rifle, shot gun and ammunition on the flight (5) Letters from Hughes' insurance company certifying that Hughes' plane was insured for flight in Germany in accordance with local laws (6) Department of Commerce Customs Clearance for flight from New York to Paris, France.
