the lid decorated with an owl of carved pottery with semi-closed eyes, perched atop a flowering magnolia branch with enameled green leaves, having four character inscription in the bottom right corner, the interior of the lid showing a pottery noh theater mask and box, the interior of the box having floral form bronze water dropper and rectangular ink stone with inscription on underside. Height 1 3/4 x width 8 1/2 x depth 10 7/8 inches.
