Autographed letter signed ("James Watts"), 1 page, on a bifolium (watermarked "J BUDGEN 1813"), undated, to Doctor [William] Herschel, with postscript to bottom, autograph address panel to verso of second leaf. Watt writes Herschel requesting a meeting between him and a friend of Watt's. Creased from former folding; two large tears to second leaf, not affecting manuscript; otherwise fine.
