First edition, first issue, of Darwin's first published book and probably the most widely read of nineteenth-century voyage narratives, which provides a detailed account of Darwin's voyage. Complete with eight fold-out engraved maps and charts and 48 plates with tissue guards. Loose maps slightly toned; a few plates mildly foxed; otherwise a fine set.
