A group of two typed letters signed. 1) TLS, December 9, 1966, as Governor, to Milford L. Smith, his cousin, signed "Dutch," stating how proud he is of Smith's son, Dennis, for a speech given at a Rotary Club event. Reagan states, "When I see some of our beatniks protesting because life isn't being handed to them on a big enough platter, I'm going to remember this line." Accompanied by the original Rotary Club newsletter and postmarked envelope. 2) TLS, September 4, 1969, to Dennis Smith, son of Reagan's cousin. "Mr. Smith" has been crossed out with pen and Reagan has written, "Dennis," in its place. Congratulating him on his achievements.
