Burnside to suppress publication of the The speeches that were presented by prominent Chicago citizens at the assembly the next day are reported in full within the newspaper and in this booklet. The court proceedings resulted in a rescinding of the Burnside order by President Abraham Lincoln thus preserving "the freedom on the press." Not in American Imprints Inventory, but mentioned as having accompanied AII 710 at auction. Heartman Cat. 242, Oct. 1, 1932, No. 36. Partial Chicago postal stamp on the back cover; mild dampstaining to corners; creases from folds; some chipping to edges of pages and browning; otherwise fine.
