Francesco Rainaldi (Italian, c. 1770-1805) after Salvator Rosa (Italian, 1615-1673), "The Catiline Conspiracy"-1805, engraving. Figural early 19th century print depicting Catiline plotting with the help of a group of aristocrats and disaffected veterans to overthrow the Roman Republic. In 63 BC, Cicero exposed the plot which forced Catiline to flee from Rome. Framed 17" x 22". Sight size 13.125" x 15.8".
