Qianlong period (1736-1795), of broad cauldron form with wide flanged lip with foliated rim, decorated in center with a pair of Mandarin ducks swimming in a lake with overhanging flowering peonies, the cavetto with dragons chasing flaming pearls, the rim with ovular reserves of flowers and butterflies on a pink diaper ground with yellow archaistic medallions, the underside with flowerheads on a green cracked ice ground, the base with a peach, bat and flower design, all resting upon three feet. Diameter 16 1/2 inches.
