Adolphe Jean Lavergne (French 1892-1969). Two spelter figural cropper sculptures "Moissonneuse" and "Moissonneur". Each figure depicted standing at full length holding objects in both hands and in the round on a circular rock form base stamped "LAVERGNE". Woman depicted with her head tilted and smiling holding a round basket with flower and a stick handle (top missing or a later replacement), woman wearing a long skirt and a scarf tied in front. Man depicted wearing a hat, holding a farming tool and carrying a basket around his wrist with grain, man barefoot with his pants rolled up and with his jacket open. Both figures raised on matching black painted socle wood bases with metal title plaques. Overall height of female and male sculptures (including base) 22 inches. Height of female and male metal sculpture (without base) 19.5 inches.
