of rectangular form, worked to show a gourd to front and back with characters ("great luck") and ("happiness from heaven"), set on a cloudy ground, incised on two sides each reading ("quietude promotes learning, frugality cultivates virtue") and ("making new friends while not leaving out the old ones, do not speak flashy words with no substance"), mounted in a wood stand delicately carved with a -head motif and lappet leaves. Height overall 5 3/4 inches.
