each of peach form, the sides decorated with a ground, one cover carved to depict a scholar sitting in front of a painting table beneath pine trees, appreciating a scroll painting with his attendant, set within a fenced garden with mountains in the background, the other cover showing a similar garden setting with an elderly resting on a garden stool with her right hand holding a staff, with a child standing at front. Both interiors and bases lacquered black. Width 4 1/4 inches.
