Group of two Oriental tortoise shell items comprising of a paper knife decorated with hand painted flowering vines and perched birds (approximately 9" long); and a lidded oblong box with rounded ends hand painted on each side with stylized bird motif and foliage, possibly depicting a Mt. Fuji landscape in background. Tortoiseshell carved to light almost translucent pale color. Container measures approximately 4.25" x 2.5".
