A leather with suede applique and decorative couching Claude Montana jacket circa 1981 owned by Miles Davis. A fading label reads "Claude Montana." Montana was an important French designer in the 1980s and 1990s and became a leader with leather techniques during this period. Reportedly worn by Davis during the first meeting between him and his future lover and artistic collaborator, Jo Gelbard, in an elevator at 985 Fifth Avenue, New York, in 1984.
