Legolas Greenleaf, son of the Elvenking Thranduil, was a Prince of the Woodland Realm, Mirkwood. Representing his people at the Council of Elrond in Rivendell, Legolas joined with Men, Hobbits, a Wizard, and a Dwarf as part of The Fellowship of the Ring (New Line Cinema, 2001). Possessing the keen senses of his Elven people, Legolas was one of the finest marksmen with a bow in Middle-earth and his mastery with his twin fighting knives made him made him an invaluable member of the Fellowship. Throughout The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (New Line Cinema, 2001, 2002, 2003), Legolas carried two White Knives on his back in scabbards on either side of his quiver. Legolas would wield these long knives simultaneously in fast, whirling attacks. A little under two feet in length, this knife has an aluminum blade and resin handle. The blade is heavily acid-etched with Elven vine and scrollwork and shows denting along the cutting edge from extensive on-set use. There are only faint traces left of the original Elven vine scroll detailing on the handle as it was worn off. This particular stunt weapon was ultimately retired from on-set use due to considerable wear and was retained for practice use by Orlando Bloom. Length, 23 inches Categories:
