Greta Garbo's personal bed. This bed was designed by Garbo from the panels of an antique Swedish Skape (cupboard) that was originally purchased for Harby, her estate in Sweden. Garbo had the idea to take apart the Skape and inset the panels into the bed frame and also installed them on her bedroom walls to create a niche for this bed. A modern double size platform bed frame on wheels with antique carved and painted wooden panel decorating the foot. Together with the original invoice from New York cabinet makers Saget-Zeien, dated January 8, 1954, noting that the bed frame and matching paneling in the bedroom were custom made from an antique cabinet for the bedroom in Garbo's New York apartment on East 52nd street. 15 by 57 by 78 inches Categories: Greta Garbo
