A black wool pea coat custom designed for and owned by John Wayne. The coat has gold buttons embossed with eagles, with gold embroidered applique of a nautical symbol and one reading "Newport Beach." There are two labels that read "Watkins... Pasadena, CA." Accompanied by preliminary rough sketches of the coat by Watkins. Sketches contain a handwritten note from Pat Stacey, Wayne's assistant and companion reading "Looks good Jim, John and I are anxious to see the coat. See you soon. Pat". Categories: JOHN WAYNE
