A collection of Harry Houdini signed Society of American Magicians (SAM) items including a typed, signed letter dated April 25, 1922, written on SAM letterhead to SAM secretary Richard Van Dien, discussing in part a magician exposing an illusion – and doing it incorrectly. Van Dien was SAM president from 1915 to 1917; eight SAM membership cards signed by Houdini dating from 1918 to 1926; a postcard from a campaign to enroll more magicians to SAM addressed to Elmer Cail Ekman of New York and postmarked September 26, 1921; and a SAM invoice for membership dues from Elmer Ekman dated November 1, 1921.
