A group of three letters relating to the medium William Eglinton from Harry Houdini and Harry Kellar. The first is a signed, typed letter from Houdini to an unknown recipient. Dated at the top of the page “Sept 16/16.” Reads in part, “Kellar told me personally that he suspected the host as assisting the medium … he evidently does not wish to say it in print …” and signed “Harry Houdini.” The second item is a copy of a typed letter written by Houdini to Kellar and signed by Houdini, dated September 15, 1916. The last item is a two-page handwritten letter from Kellar to Houdini. Written on Hotel Astor stationery and dated September 16, 1916, and signed “H Kellar.” In it Kellar states, “If you should ask me to tell you how Eglington [sic] produced his mystifying effects I should answer I don’t know. If he was a trickster he was clever enough to put ‘one over’ on me.” Largest, 11 by 8 1/2 inches Categories: Harry Houdini
