A deed signed by abolitionist, author, statesmen and former slave Frederick Douglass. In 1881, Douglass was appointed Recorder of Deeds for the District of Columbia. This deed was signed by Douglass and dated July 8, 1885. The document is housed in a matted frame with a black and white image of Douglass and one of his famous quotes.
