A brown wig custom made for James Stewart for an unknown MGM production. The wig is made of human hair and hand tied one strand of hair at a time to a lace mesh with silk bands in the interior to give the appearance of a scalp. Studio wigs at the time were custom made and fitted to measure by the star's head and hairline. An MGM label reads "1255" with a corresponding MGM wig stock record card that reads "Stock No. 1255 10-18-66 J. Stewart Lt. brown-1850." The card also notes that the wig was checked out in 1966 by 20th Century Fox for M. Evans. The wig was acquired from MGM upon the closure of its hair and wig department. Accompanied by the original wig box labeled "1255 Lt. Brown 1850 J. Stewart." Categories: James Stewart
