A handwritten letter dated January 27, 1972, written on Merian C. Cooper stationery RSVP-ing to attend a 40th Anniversary celebration of the premiere of King Kong (RKO, 1933). The letter is addressed to Mr. Wright. Together with a secretarial handwritten letter and envelope from Mrs. Merian C. Cooper expressing her regret that she is unable to attend another event. Cooper, the co-director, producer, story writer and actor in this legendary film, also promoted the technical effects used in the film that were groundbreaking for the time. Aside from film Cooper lived a varied and courageous life. He was twice imprisoned in POW camps during two different wars.
