A black office chair with tufted back used by villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, played by Donald Pleasence, in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice (Eon, 1967). The chair was acquired in the 1980s during a liquidation sale by Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom and later purchased by David Reinhardt from the Ian Fleming Foundation. The chair has since been shown to former employees who worked at Pinewood Studios and to a member of the production company. There were guys who worked at Pinewood in those days whose job it was to look after such things, and confirmed they remembered without question that the chair had been there for several decades. A photo of the chair was shown to a member of the production team - possibly Peter Lamont, who said it did indeed look like one of the chairs used in the production. (They burnt one of the original chairs up in the scene where the SPECTRE control room is destroyed.) That's not to say Mr. Lamont is the sole Read more…
