This is the same or similar belt worn by Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit II (Universal, 1980). The original Smokey and the Bandit (Universal) was released in 1977. Reynolds and co-star Sally Field reprised their roles in the 1980 film Smokey and the Bandit II (Universal) .
